I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of facial brush systems. But I’ve also always been skeptical about them. Now while I do not have a sensitive skin type, the idea of using a rotating plastic or silicone brush head on my face was a big no. So getting myself one of these things was out of question until I saw my favorite You-tuber use ‘Spin for perfect skin’. So like a loyal little subscriber I had to get one too!
Not to forget that I got mine on a 70% discount! So I decided I wouldn’t be completely heartbroken if Spin did not work for me. But oh my god, I was shook the first time I used it and it made me completely change my outlook about facial brushes.
A little about the packaging:
You would be lying if you say you have never bought anything just because of its appealing packaging. Spin is one such product. The box that Spin comes in is so eye pleasing.
The entire set comes with the main device and 4 interchangeable brush head attachments. The first brush head is a daily cleansing brush with really soft bristles, which are mild enough for everyday use. The second is a big body brush. The third is an exfoliating brush which is not as soft as the first one making it perfectly suitable for exfoliation and the fourth is a pumice stone attachment.
How I use it:
Daily brush head: I use the daily cleansing brush every night along with my foaming cleanser and oh my god do I love this one! Putting a little cleanser directly on the dampened brush head, I move the device over my face in a circular motion. My skin feels so squeaky clean afterwards.
Exfoliating brush head: I use it once or twice a week. It exfoliates just as well with only a cleanser, but I sometimes use a scrub along with the brush when I want to go for deeper exfoliation.
Body exfoliating brush: I like using this once a week when I have the time to have a nice relaxing bath. I do not use a body scrub along with this one as for me, a body wash and this is enough. Also, this is far less messy than using say, a sugar body scrub. I also sometimes use this to dry exfoliate my body when I have a little more flaky skin.
Pumice stone attachment: Not going to lie, on its own the stone is pretty useless. It is not hard enough to get rid of the feet calluses. But! Using this with a foot scrub does wonders!
Tip: Apply some petroleum jelly on the heels of your feet; cover them up with some cute fuzzy socks and go to sleep. Get up and use this pumice stone + foot scrub combo for baby soft skin!
I basically thought of writing this blog post for this very reason: to share my review with you guys!
It has now been 4 months that I use my spin, every night, very religiously. When I first started using it, I was struggling with dark spots and acne marks. They were so very persistent and just didn’t go away with any of the DIYs I did. I kid you not, within the first week itself they had significantly reduced. They are still not completely gone but are slowly diminishing. My skin looks a lot healthier now and I rarely even breakout anymore. Also before Spin, I had never regularly exfoliated my body but ever since I have noticed a significant reduction in the amount of ingrown hair I have.
- The device is not heavy and hence is travel-friendly.
- The batteries last for a very long time. I’ve not had to change them even once since I started using spin.
- The device is water resistant.
- The brush heads are supposed to be changed every three/ four months and they are not cheap.
To sum it all up, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin since I started using this. I love the squeaky clean effect spin provides and now my night time skincare regimen is so incomplete without it. Facial brushes are really worth the hype and I do not regret getting spin at all.
It is a little on the pricey side, but if you are struggling with acne and wouldn’t mind investing a little in your skincare, girl, this is one of the best investments you’ll ever make!
P.S – Vanity planet seems to always have some discount or the other. Make sure to keep an eye on the website!
